Meet StephaneStephane is a self-taught cook who grew up in Fontainebleau, France. He is the passionate instructor at the French Cooking Academy, dedicated to making French cuisine accessible to home cooks everywhere. Stephane stumbled upon the idea of the French Cooking Academy almost by accident. After a move to Australia in the early 2010s, Stephane Nguyen started to seek out the flavours and dishes of his native country, France. This exploration took him down an unexpected path and what initially began as a bit of fun documenting his culinary journey on an iPhone evolved into a successful YouTube channel and online cooking school.
Stephane's dedication to sharing the intricacies of French cooking through simple and enjoyable methods has resonated with a wide audience, making the French Cooking Academy a reliable resource for culinary enthusiasts.
Meet KateKate is a self-taught food photographer who stepped away from a Corporate career to co-found the Academy’s online cooking school in 2019 alongside Stephane. She is the creative director behind the Academy, contributing to the creation and presentation of its engaging content.
The duo have just released their first cookbook, French Cooking Academy: 100 Essential Recipes for the Home Cook. With 100 delicious recipes, the book is a tour of the best France has to offer, prepared in the simplest way possible. While only recently released, the book has quickly garnered top reviews from home cooks all over the world.
Stephane and Kate live on the lands of the Gunditjmara people in regional Victoria, Australia, where they enjoy discovering local food producers, growing their own ingredients, and creating boutique courses that teach the art of French cooking.
